ELBPHILHARMONIE RESERVATIONS START AND FIRST ACTS ANNOUNCED
Full speed ahead! Besides Melody Gardot, John McLaughlin & The 4th Dimension and the Moka Efti Orchestra feat. Severija, we have many other programme highlights among the first confirmed acts for ELBJAZZ 2022. And you can now also book your place for one of the six ELBJAZZ concerts held in the Elbphilharmonie and start looking forward to the following highlights there.
The rising star Zara McFarlane from the UK, with her scintillating voice, reminds many of Cassandra Wilson: McFarlane will be taking us to her musical roots in Caribbean sounds, roots reggae and soul.
Things will be getting Scandinavian with the Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick. He is supported by the Norwegian Wind Ensemble, which has a unique approach to collective improvisation.
Freundeskreis rapper Max Herre and the jazz supergroup Web Web present their masterful homage to the raw jazz of the early 70s.
And after her concert in the Grand Hall in June, you won’t need any persuading that the Korean singer Youn Sun Nah is one of the most exciting jazz vocalists around: she will be performing works from her latest album Walking World, all of which she composed herself.
The bold vocalist Lady Blackbird gives us a taste of her album Black Acid Soul – exuding a touch of Nina Simone in the Elbphilharmonie.
And rounding off the musical spectrum, we pay tribute to the legendary German violinist Helmut Zacharias, who would have been celebrating his 102th birthday.
