“The sounds this Nice-born Parisian coaxes from the button accordion and the accordina are fresh, new and unique.” - that was the Süddeutsche Zeitung’s verdict on Vincent Peirani. The Frenchman has been highly acclaimed across Europe since even before the release of his debut album in 2012. Peirani won numerous awards as a classical accordion player during his teenage years, and there then followed a change in musical direction that saw him winning three Echo Jazz Awards. The “talent of the century” (Fono Forum) has now been playing with the Living Being Quintet for a number of years. A powerful yet smooth beast of a band, to which there is much more than five experienced jazz musicians: the melancholy of the chanson, the grandeur of classical music, the sheer power of rock. When Peirani et al. cover Led Zeppelin and Sonny Bono with unbridled energy, you can be forgiven if your jaw drops.
