Brit-soul singer Myles Sanko’s fourth album Memories of Love is all about love. Born in Ghana, raised in the UK, and now living in southern France, the musician, producer, designer and director says “I’m still on a journey to finding out what love really is”. Packaged in high-gloss soul, his impressions of a feeling – from memories of Martin Luther King to blackbird’s song – have little to do with the romantic happy endings of Hollywood love stories. The artist began by supporting Gregory Porter, until – after around 250 solo concerts – he demonstrated his impressive live qualities to perfection in early 2020 with the Filmorchester Babelsberg under conductor Gast Waltzing. Sanko and his six-strong band sweeten the wait until the recording of the sell-out show is released with elegant Brit-soul complete with vintage horn passages and fine R&B grooves.
