The Polish neo-classical pianist and singer can already boast an impressive catalogue of eight albums. The most recent, released in 2022, is the original soundtrack to an opulent declaration of love for a city: the documentary film Venice − Infinitely Avant-Garde is structured around fourteen atmospherically dense, elegantly slowed, mystically dark piano elegies, at times played solo, at times with an orchestra. The award-winning musician was born in Gdansk in 1990 and now divides her time between her adopted home Warsaw and her work base Berlin. In 2019, she released her debut solo album Esja on the experimental British label Gondwana Records. The album won her four prestigious Fryderyk Awards – the Polish equivalents to the Grammys – including in the categories Best Debut Album, Best Alternative Album and Best New Arrangement. In the same year, Rani was crowned “Discovery of the Year” in the Empik Bestseller Awards, and won the prestigious Sanki Award as the “New Face of Polish Music.”
