Regarding the protection of minors, regulations by law are effective. Children under the age of 16 can only attend the festival in company of a custodian or legal guardian. People between the age of 16 and 18 can attend the festival until midnight/0 pm only, except if they are accompanied by a person of full age who acts as custodian in the name of the parents. A written confirmation is necessary. You can download a standard form here (only available in german language).

Festival tickets and wristbands count as tickets for public transport to and from the festival within the complete HVV area, for the HADAG harbour ferries and for our own festival ferries.

General

The expected ten venues will be situated in three main areas: Blohm + Voss dockyards, HafenCity and Hansahafen (MS Bleichen). The various venues will be introduced on our website before the festival.

For a nominal charge you can get a printed program book with comprehensive information at our registration desks.

A free program overview with a map of the harbor and the festival venues will be handed out to you with your festival wristband.

Shortly before the festival you can download our free App including the complete program and much more useful information for iPhones and Android smartphones. Find more information here.

We want to make the festival accessible for everyone. We are doing our best to make the visit as easy and comfortable as possible also for handicapped people. Unfortunately this is not possible at every single venue, since the festival is taking place at unusual concert venues (for instance on ships) and some paths and areas are not accessible with a wheelchair.

There will be descriptions and illustrations of our venues online some time before the festival which also contain information on each venue’s accessibility.

For information on handicapped accessible accommodations in Hamburg our Partner Hamburg Tourism will be happy to assist you (Hotline 040-300 51 30) as there are a large number of hotels which offer handicapped accessible rooms and service in Hamburg.

If there is a sign in your handicapped ID showing that you are dependent on an assistant’s company, your assistant will get free admission to the festival.

Besides the food stands at our venues there are many places to eat and dine in the HafenCity and in the harbour area (especially in the portuguese quarter).

With reference to animal protection laws we ask you to think of your dog’s ears and leave it at home. It will know to appreciate it.

Bringing your own drink is only allowed at the Marco-Polo-Terrassen.

Dangerous objects like pyrotechnic objects or weapons of all kind are specifically prohibited.

Please be aware that our festival is in part taking place on idustrial premises and we cannot secure the ground in all instances. Please wear sturdy shoes and watch your step.

Smoking is prohibited at all indoor venues.

Course of the concerts

On both festival days there will be an open stage where you can listen to Jazz for free. Detailed information will be available on this site as soon as the program is published.

There will be a free barge shuttle to transport you from one venue to another. An overview of the different shuttle lines and departure times will be provided with the harbor map.

The Blohm+Voss area can also be reached by foot through the tunnel below the river (Alter Elbtunnel).

We advise you to arrive at the venue early before a concert starts. The venues will open at least 30 minutes before the concert (subject to program changes). There is no guarantee for seating at the venues.

Please understand that we cannot guarantee admission to overcrowded venues – safety comes first! However this is only likely to happen in venues with very limited capacity, such as the STAGE Kehrwieder Theater with only 320 seats. Admission will be granted as space becomes available.

You can bring a basic photo camera. Professional equipment, however, is not allowed and can be taken and stored by security for the duration of the concert.

With respect to our artists and the other guests we ask you to take photos only in the first ten minutes of the concert.

At most of the venues we will have seating opportunities. For outdoor venues like the Marco-Polo-Terrassen you are allowed to bring small chairs or blankets to sit on.
