Where will the ELBJAZZ take place?
The ELBJAZZ open air and indoor stages will be at different locations of the Hamburg harbour. The Elbphilharmonie (Elbe Philharmonic Concert Hall) was added as a new venue in 2017.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online at www.elbjazz.de, via the ticket hotline 040 - 413 22 60 (Monday to Friday 9.00 to 18.30) as well as from all available booking offices. We recommend online purchase at the ELBJAZZ ticket shop. Moreover, tickets (if available) can be bought at the ticket counter.

How much is a ticket?
A 2-day ticket (1 + 2 June 2018) costs 99.00 EUR. The 1-day ticket for Friday (1 June 2018) costs 55.00 EUR, the 1-day ticket for Saturday (2 June 2018) 69.00 EUR (all prices incl. fees).
Are there any discounts? Am I eligible for a reduction?
Schoolchildren, students and persons doing community service are eligible for reductions provided they present a valid ID-card at the ticket counter. This is not possible for advance booking.
Are there tickets for individual concerts?
We offer 1- and 2-day tickets. There will be no tickets for individual concerts.
Can I attend all the concerts of the ELBJAZZ?
As some concerts will be taking place at the same time, it is not possible to attend all of them. For security reasons, admission to some venues will be restricted to a limited number of guests. We therefore recommend selecting your favourite concerts from the programme in advance and arriving at the venue early. If the capacity of a venue is exceeded, access cannot be permitted. In that case access is only granted, when guests leave the venue and make room for further guests.
Please note: To attend an Elbphilharmonie concert, reservations must be made in advance.
Who can attend a concert at the Elbphilharmonie?
The first 17,000 ELBJAZZ ticket holders are entitled to attend one of the ELBJAZZ concerts at the Elbphilharmonie. This requires early registration in our reservation system.
Can I attend more than one concert at the Elbphilharmonie?
No, sorry. Each ticket buyer can choose one Elbphilharmonie concert. Successful reservation ensures admission of the ticket holder to the selected concert.
If I have a 2-day ticket, can I attend two concerts at the Elbphilharmonie?
Holders of 2-day tickets (just like holders of 1-day tickets) have the opportunity to register for only one Elbphilharmonie concert. They can choose whether to attend a concert on Thursday, Friday or on Saturday provided tickets for concerts on the day in question are still available.
Can I choose which Elbphilharmonie concert I would like to attend?
Yes, the artists performing at the Elbphilharmonie (incl. time of their performance) were announced on activation of the reservation system. After successful registration, admission to the selected concert is guaranteed.
OK, so I can attend one Elbphilharmonie concert – which Elbphilharmonie concerts can I choose from with my ticket type?
ELBJAZZ ticket holders who have a 1-day ticket for Friday can choose from three concerts on Friday and three concerts on Thursday.
ELBJAZZ ticket holders who have a 1-day ticket for Saturday can choose from three concerts on Saturday and three concerts on Thursday.
ELBJAZZ ticket holders who have a 2-day ticket will also only be able to reserve one concert – they will be able to choose between attending an Elbphilharmonie concert on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (subject to availability).
When does registration for a concert at the Elbphilharmonie start?
All ELBJAZZ ticket holders who bought their ticket by 7 November 2017 and are among the first 17,000 ticket holders were automatically emailed a personalised access link on 8 November and can use this link to reserve one Elbphilharmonie concert per ticket. Those who would like to attend a concert at the Elbphilharmonie during ELBJAZZ 2018 and did not buy an ELBJAZZ 2018 ticket by 7 November 2017 can, starting on 8 November 2017, purchase an ELBJAZZ 2018 ticket and reserve an Elbphilharmonie concert (subject to availability) at the same time.
Can I buy tickets for Elbphilharmonie concerts at the box office?
No, there will probably be no box office for Elbphilharmonie concerts.
Is the ELBJAZZ barrier-free?

Is admission for disabled guests and/or an accompanying person free?
Admission for persons accompanying wheelchair users is free. There are no reductions for wheelchair users or disabled people.
Does my child need her/his own ticket?
For children below the age of 14 years admission to the ELBJAZZ festival is free. Upon request of security personnel, verification of age must be produced before entering the festival area. However, for concerts at the Elbphilharmonie, festival tickets must also be purchased for children.
Why are concerts at the Elbphilharmonie not free for children?
Elbphilharmonie concerts require prior reservation. As this is only possible by means of a personalised access link issued to ticket holders, children without tickets cannot be admitted.
What rules apply to infants?
Children aged 0 years and above may enter the festival area if accompanied by their parents and wearing ear protection.
What rules apply to minors?
Events are subject to legal provisions for the protection of minors. As a rule, pupil ID-cards, written approval issued by parents or legal guardians are not accepted.
5 Dance Events JuSchG (Protection of Young Persons Act):
Attendance of children and young people below the age of 16 at public dance events is not permissible unless accompanied by a legal guardian; attendance of adolescents above the age of 16 is permissible up to midnight.
Is there a programme?
Yes, the programme booklet will be published in spring 2018.
Is there a mobile app for ELBJAZZ 2018?
Yes, the mobile App for iOS and Android for the 2018 ELBJAZZ will be available free of charge probably from spring 2018.
What’s the best way to get to the festival?
We recommend using public transport. The festival ticket will entitle you to travel to the festival area and back within the entire HVV area on the day/days of its validity (to and from the location incl. express bus, valid till end of operating hours on the day of validity).
Is my ticket valid for public transport?
The festival ticket entitles the ticket holder to travel to and from the festival on the day/days the ticket is valid (1 and/or 2 June 2018) using the HVV public transport network (ticket includes one round trip, including express bus, valid until the end of operating hours on the day of validity).
Please note: Festival ticket holders who will be attending one of the Elbphilharmonie concerts on Thursday, 31 May 2018, are also entitled to use their festival ticket to travel with the HVV public transport network – but only on 1 and/or 2 June 2018.

I’ve purchased my ticket – what do I need to do when I get to the festival site?
Holders of tickets bought in advance must exchange them personally for a wristband at the ticket counter on the day of its validity. At certain times a higher number of visitors will be expected at the ticket counters, so please plan enough time.
I’ve reserved a concert at the Elbphilharmonie – what’s the next step?
To get access to an Elbphilharmonie concert booked in advance the voucher you have received (when purchased before 8 November 2017) or the ticket (when purchased after 8 November 2017) can be exchanged for a seat ticket at the ticket counter on the festival area. This will allow access to the Elbphilharmonie.
How will the seat allocation for Elbphilharmonie concerts be determined?
Seats for concerts at the Elbphilharmonie will be allocated at the ticket counter on the day of the event. There will be NO advance reservation of certain seats. Seats will be allocated randomly and cannot be changed.
What can I bring along to the festival area?
The following items are permitted in the festival area:
- One 0.5l PET beverage bottle per person
- Small snacks
- Ear protection for children
- Mobile camera, compact camera
- Camping stool (no folding chairs!)
The following items are not permitted in the festival area:
- Glass bottles
- Professional camera equipment
Confiscated and lost items can be retrieved when leaving the festival area. Information on collection points and times will be provided when the venues for 2018 are published on this website.
What catering facilities are provided?
In all festival centres there will be a selection of different food and beverage stands. Moreover, small snacks can be taken to the festival area.
