Omer Klein Trio

Though born 1982 in Israel, Omer Klein got his education in jazz music piano in the US. Klein has studied with Danilo Perez in Boston and later with Fred Hersch, being a much acclaimed musician at the New York jazz scene of the noughties. Since 2011 the virtuoso lives in Düsseldorf. Belonging to his own trio are bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and drummer Amir Bresler. Up to date Omer Klein has recorded seven albums. „Rockets On The Balcony“ even made it to John Zorn’s famous label Tzadik. His current opus is called „Sleepwalkers“, released with Warner Records. According to the 34 year-old,

„Sleepwalkers“ is an album with three centers and three big topics. The eponymous title track musically describes the generation smart-phone, endlessly watching displays and moving zombie-like through our world. Other compositions deal with mystics and dreams plus the trying of transporting those dreams into music. The third part of the album presents a funny and free-wheelin’ section. But surely the best chance to experience Omer Klein’s musical magic are at the concerts of the master pianist and his trio.
