ELBJAZZ took place for the first time in May 2010. It is the initiators’ declared goal to establish an annual jazz festival in the city of Hamburg that is going to make its way as a permanent fixture on the international festival landscape, impressing with a unique diversity of venues, all within reach of the port of Hamburg.

All stages are connected via ferries, allowing the visitor to enjoy not only the music but the city itself. Musicians of international reputation, highlights of Hamburg’s vivid jazz scene and promising newcomers represent the multifaceted world of jazz music.
